The Lubrano Family

The Lubrano family of Norwell had no experience preparing a child for college and knew they would need support. According to mom Meghan,
“We were worried about everything from the Common App and developing the college list to writing essays and paying for college!”

Daughter Julia (Norwell High School ’24) had her own worries: where would she get in? What could she do to improve her chances of getting into her top choice?

Julia was a junior when they began researching admissions counselors and found Campus Bound online. After an initial consultation, they decided Campus Bound was an ideal fit, and Julia was soon matched with Admissions Counselor Jennifer Orsini.

Julia and Jennifer had a warm, fun relationship. My daughter had immense respect for, and trust in, her counselor. She really enjoyed working with her.

The benefits of hiring Campus Bound were myriad.”Julia knew she wanted to be in a city, she wanted to get out of New England, she had broad ideas about her major but didn’t know how to approach it. I think the biggest result was being able to take all the nebulous thoughts and feelings and hopes about college and distill them into a concrete plan with concrete tactics.”

Meghan notes that Julia homed in on one school in the fall of senior year.
“She wanted to go to George Washington University and understood from discussions with Jennifer that the school might be a bit of a reach for her. So they agreed that Julia should apply early decision. This ended up being the right strategy, because she got in!”

Now, as a sophomore, Julia is flourishing. GW’s city campus and global student population feed her curiosity and energy. Freshman year was exhilarating, insightful, and transformative.

“For a family getting ready to send the first child off to college, Campus Bound was a great all-in-one resource for developing an approach to identifying right-fit schools, creating and managing the application process, tackling the Common App and all the various writing exercises,” Meghan asserts.

Campus Bound was a godsend for us!
