MA in Education (School Counseling), Boston University
BS in Human Development, Cornell University
Acton Boxborough Regional High School: School Counselor (2002-2010), Naviance Coordinator and Post High School Transition Specialist (2012-present)
I have worked with students in the following areas:
The students I have worked with apply to many different majors, and include students applying to a wide variety of colleges – elite, liberal arts, engineering, business, others and transfer students. I also have knowledge of community colleges, alternatives to college, and resources for students with learning differences.
Why I am passionate about college counseling:
Choosing a college can be an overwhelming process for a student and family. There are so many options out there and it’s hard to know where to start. I like being able to help students and families see that there are many colleges that can be a good fit. Once we develop a solid list of colleges where the student could be happy, I enjoy helping students present themselves to colleges as an individual, so colleges can see who the student is beyond their GPA and SAT scores.
Campus Bound office: I see students in Acton and the surrounding towns.
Hobbies/interests: I am very involved with volunteer work in my community. I am on the board of my son’s preschool and our synagogue and I also coordinate a group called Acton Boxborough Womenade that fundraises for local families in need. I love spending time with my husband and two boys rooting on the Red Sox, cooking, and baking.
