“I really liked working with Mike. He helped select colleges that were really good matches for me.  If he didn't help me, I wouldn't even have gone to college…it would have been too hard for me to handle.”

Tips on Applying to College

When applying to college:

  • Do not underestimate the amount of time it will take to complete your applications.
If you are thinking that this is something you can take care of during your winter vacation, think again.

  • With interviews being a thing of the past at many schools, your application is the one and only chance to represent yourself—so make sure you do it well.

  • Be detailed oriented—double check, and then check again.

  • The different schools that you are considering may have different application requirements.  Understand those requirements in advance so you can be efficient and avoid mistakes.

  • Essays are crucial when colleges decide to accept or deny students.

  • Make certain that you have a list of schools that include an academic safety as well as a financial safety.
